The SureCommand Geotab dashboard puts every tracked vehicle on one map. Beside it, a searchable list shows each vehicle and plate with its current speed and whether it is driving or stopped, and a badge counts how many units are online.
The Assets tab lists every Geotab device with its current driver, licence plate, odometer and a comment such as “Pool car” or “Brake inspection due”. Each asset opens its own profile.
The asset profile shows the VIN, asset type, powertrain, plate, fuel level, engine hours and groups, and under Operations the assigned driver, work hours and time zone.
Further down, a usage bar splits the last seven days into stopped, driving and idling time, next to the odometer and distance driven. A map pins where the vehicle last reported in.
The Maintenance tab flags anything that needs immediate action and reads the engine’s diagnostics: odometer, engine hours, coolant temperature, oil pressure and battery voltage, with gauges for the electrical system, fuel level and oil life and a count of ongoing and severe faults.
The Trips tab lists the asset’s trips day by day, with the number of trips and safety events each day. Pick trips to draw them on the map and replay the route on a timeline with an adjustable playback speed.
Safety Exceptions totals the last seven days by rule — seat belt, speeding, harsh cornering, hard acceleration, harsh braking and excessive speeding — then lists every event for the chosen dates with its duration, distance, driver and location.
Devices & Settings shows the telematics unit installed in the vehicle: its model, serial number, rate plan, when it last communicated and how many faults it reported. It also shows which in-cab alerts are switched on, such as audio feedback, speeding, idling, seat belt and reversing.
Trips History pulls up any vehicle’s trips for a date range. Days are listed with their trip count and number of safety events, and ticking a trip draws it on the map.
The fleet-wide Safety Exceptions report lists every rule broken across all vehicles, or one at a time: speeding, unbuckled seat belts and more, with the maximum speed, details, distance, duration and driver. A pin opens the location of each event.
Engine & Faults collects the diagnostic codes reported by each vehicle and its telematics device for the chosen dates, with the time each fault appeared and whether it is still pending.
Vehicle Mapping links each Geotab device, by serial number and plate, to a vehicle in SureCommand. Once a device is mapped, its trips and safety exceptions show up in that vehicle’s Reports tab.
Zones & Users draws the Geotab zones on a map and lists the users on the Geotab account with their email and whether each one is a driver.
The SureCommand Vehicles List shows the whole fleet on one page: photo, unit name, type, make, model, year, plate, colour and odometer. Each vehicle is marked Available, Reserved or Out of Service. Retired vehicles move to the History tab, and every ID opens the vehicle profile.
The Details tab identifies the vehicle by make, model, year, age and VIN, and records its specifications: mileage, engine type, displacement and cylinders, fuel, engine and transmission oil, tire count and size, cargo capacity, maximum load, and empty and maximum weight.
The Reservations tab lists every booking of the vehicle with its start and end date and time, the odometer at pick-up and return, total kilometres and the employee who booked it. Completed bookings move to the Closed tab.
To book the vehicle, choose a start date and time, an end date and time, and the employee who will drive it.
Each reservation records the booking window and driver, then the actual pick-up date and time, starting and finishing kilometres, and the return date and time.
The Priorities tab attaches tasks to the trip, such as a drop-off, each with an address and a time window, so the driver knows what the trip is for.
The History tab saves a snapshot every time the reservation changes, along with who changed it and when.
The Work Orders tab tracks every job done on the vehicle, from detailing to oil changes, tire rotations, safety inspections and repairs. Each one has a ticket number, priority, status, start and due dates, the person assigned and a category. Open and closed orders sit on separate tabs, with bulk actions and filters.
The Attachments tab links people to the vehicle along with their role, such as primary driver, backup driver or fleet mechanic, and shows their address, email and phone numbers. Organizations such as dealers, insurers or leasing companies are attached below.
For a vehicle mapped to a Geotab device, the Reports tab loads a trip summary for any date range: the number of trips, total distance, driving time and top speed. Below the summary, each trip is listed with its start and stop locations.
The Violations tab lists the vehicle’s safety exceptions for the same period, including speeding, hard acceleration, idling, harsh cornering and seat belt events, each with its time, duration and distance.
The Documents tab keeps photos of the vehicle, each with a preview, who uploaded it and when.
The vehicle’s paperwork is filed by type, including insurance certificates, plate permits and vehicle registrations, with the uploader and time of each file.
The Notes tab is the vehicle’s logbook, for entries like a cracked mirror, a repaired windshield or a passed inspection. Each note has a date, time, subject and author, and clicking one opens the full text.
A note needs a subject and some text, and it can be flagged so it stands out.
The Maintenance dashboard sets each vehicle’s service intervals in days, kilometres or both, for items like battery tests, brake inspections, coolant flushes, oil changes, safety inspections, tire rotations and transmission service. It shows when each was last done and when it is due next.
Below the schedule, the maintenance work orders that are due are listed with their priority, status, dates, the person assigned and a category. Finished work moves to the Closed tab.
The Accounting tab gives every vehicle its own books. Revenue lists the invoices the vehicle has earned, such as rentals and mileage recharges, with the amount and the balance still owed.
Expense lists every bill charged to the vehicle, including fuel fill-ups, detailing, windshield repairs, oil changes and inspections, with the supplier, invoice number, amount and balance.
Assets carries the vehicle on the balance sheet: its acquisition cost, capitalized upgrades such as a set of winter tires, and each month’s depreciation, with a running balance.
An asset entry takes a deposit or withdrawal, a date, the source account, the amount, the payment method and a description.
Notes receivable tied to the vehicle are tracked here too, for example an employee repaying damage through payroll deductions, with the remaining balance.
Receivables ages each unpaid invoice raised against the vehicle, showing its amount, what is left and how many days it has been open.
The Journal shows the double-entry lines behind every vehicle transaction, with the account, debit and credit, and exports them to Excel.
Liability records the vehicle’s financing, such as a loan with its term and rate, along with the original amount and what is still owed.
Consumption adds up what the vehicle has cost to run: total spent on fuel, kilometres driven, litres used and maintenance costs.
Settings places the vehicle in an accounting group and chooses which accounts it posts to. It also records the licence plate and permit plate with their expiry dates.
The Maintenance page gathers the maintenance work orders for every vehicle in the fleet in one queue. Each is ranked from Hotshot to ASAP and tracked from Not Started through Started, Deferred or Waiting on someone else, with overdue services called out and a mechanic assigned.
The Drivers List shows each employee’s licence type, number and expiry date, and whether their licence copy, driver’s abstract and driving test are on file, valid or need attention. Bulk actions apply to any drivers that are ticked.
